Latest car news

Since Christmas the car has really started to take shape. These are recent highlights – follow us on social media or visit our website regularly to monitor its progress:

  • The HTP pump has been successfully tested at Newquay.
  • The carbon fibre "blade" sections have been added to the front of the car, so that the "nose" end is starting to really take shape. And all of the composite panels that go around the blade to make up the entire front outer bodywork have also arrived.
  • The upper chassis has been moved to the new fixture so that we can install the jet engine.
  • Many other parts have arrived including the first machined part of the new gearbox to connect the supercharged Jaguar V8 to the rocket pump.

Newquay and South Africa – latest news

We’ve had lots of enquiries about how you can watch the car being tested in Newquay in August and then race in South Africa later in the year. We are currently finalising plans for sponsors and 1K Club members to join the BLOODHOUND team in Newquay and will post updates on our website as soon as they are ready. In addition, with thanks to our main sponsors, especially Castrol, Jaguar Land Rover and Rolex, we are in the final stages of preparing South Africa hospitality packages and we hope to share details with you at the end of March. In the meantime, you can find answers to some of the most common questions about visiting Hakskeenpan on our website.

Charity uses BLOODHOUND to inspire teachers

Thanks to independent educational charity the Prince’s Teaching Institute (PTI), newly qualified Physics teachers are being taught how to use BLOODHOUND resources to enrich their lessons. The PTI believes that all children deserve a rich, subject-based experience at school and that young people's opportunities in life are maximised by having inspiring teachers who are knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects. To support this philosophy the PTI encourages teachers to rediscover their love of their subject through training courses.
