Latest news on the Car
The progress in 2015 has been incredible! We’re almost at the end of the component design phase and the majority of the parts have arrived. Here are just some of the latest highlights – follow us on social media or visit our website regularly to keep up to date as the team forges ahead.
Trial fit of Andy’s seat
Andy Green’s seat has arrived and been trial fitted into the Car – and it’s a great fit. Since then, Andy and the BLOODHOUND team have been mocking up a polystyrene headrest and shoulder bolsters to try to ensure he has the most comfortable ride possible at 1,000mph.
Finishing the fin
Last month we told you about shaping the skins for the fin and since then, with help from the incredibly hard-working team from RAF 71 Squadron, the fin has been riveted together and looks great. This is particularly exciting for the team who have worked on the fin design for a very long time.

Fitting the nose cone
There was much excitement at the BLOODHOUND Technical Centre recently when the 3D printed titanium nose cone, along with the forward carbon fibre structure, were trial fitted to the Car. It looks stunning!

Assembling the Car
Many more parts of the Car are being assembled every week, including the Ti floor and delta. Some parts are harder than others to assemble but our team take it all in their stride….

Education programme
Our Department for Education delivery programme has now come to a successful conclusion. We have delivered 240 days of BLOODHOUND Education workshops throughout England, reaching 4,000 KS2 & KS3 students.

Explore BLOODHOUND BLAST
