We are pleased to announce that the BLOODHOUND SSC Project has won one award and has been shortlisted for another!

 

The BITE / Rolls Royce “Championing of Technology” Award

This award will be presented to Richard Noble OBE, project director for the Bloodhound Supersonic Car at the World Hi-Tech Forum Gala dinner to be held at the Science Museum on 14 October 2010. The director of BITE, Dr Muhammad Farmer said, “the development of the Bloodhound supersonic car, capable of reaching 1,000mph, is a world class project which will inspire a new generation to tackle technologically advanced projects and set new records.” 

Richard Noble will give a speech at the World Hi-Tech Forum 2010: Focus UAE at The Dorchester on 14 October: “21st Century Solution: Supercharged education for our industries.” The Forum is organised by the British Institute of Technology and E-Commerce. BITE (www.bite.ac.uk) is working through the WHTF and other initiatives to help shape the global landscape for technology-based knowledge transfer (KT) through entrepreneurship and the application of technology and innovation.

 

BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards

BLOODHOUND SSC has been named a finalist in the BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards, Project Excellence Category - Community Project of the Year - BLOODHOUND SSC, Putting the Buzz Back Into Science, Tech, and Engineering.

Richard Noble was delighted to have made the finals of these prestigious awards that are a platform for the entire IT Industry to celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence.

David Clarke, Chief Executive Officer, BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, says: "Congratulations to all the finalists. They can be proud of their achievements. Their projects and work showcase the professionalism that exists among IT professionals and also highlights the value of IT today and the way it touches so many areas of society.”
