Over 25,000 visitors attended the three day National Big Bang Fair at the ExCel Centre in London as a prelude to National Science & Engineering Week. BLOODHOUND SSC was a major attraction amongst interactive stands featuring Siemens, Lockheed Martin, Intel, Rolls-Royce, Airbus, BAE Systems and many others.

There was also considerable media interest with BBC Breakfast featuring Andy Green and Richard Noble to help promote the public day.

We were constantly busy with parties of children accompanied by teachers and received great feedback on how Bloodhound is being used by teachers in the classroom. Some schools said they were visiting the event especially to see the show car after using the curriculum materials.

The Bloodhound Driving Experience was kept busy throughout the event, thanks to the Intel Ambassadors for their support (above left). Promethean also supported the event with three white boards and the Primary Engineer Bloodhound jigsaw kept younger children engaged, plus a few older people, showing how more than one person can use the boards at the same time (right).

The whole event was supported by a team of enthusiastic BLOODHOUND Ambassadors who worked tirelessly to answer all the children’s questions and sign-up new schools to the education programme.
