The Bloodhound Project EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH IN ECUADOR

EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH IN ECUADOR

While volunteering in Ecuador last year, I had the opportunity to introduce the BLOODHOUNDSSC Project to the small village of Cuellaje in the rural north of the country.

The initial offer had been to visit the local school, but to reach a wider range of interested people I eventually gave the presentation in the village hall.

I was due to start at 10am, but with just five minutes to go the start was pushed back by half an hour…and so the delays continued, until I eventually started at 2pm. It was difficult to understand the reason for this, but you just have to be flexible in Ecuador!

I gave the introduction in Spanish, but then had the help of a translator to complete the presentation.

The kids really loved the videos, particularly the race with the Eurofighter – they never knew that cars like this existed! Despite its remote location, they have the Internet in school so they will follow the Project’s progress closely from now on.
