On 26 January BloodhoundSSC held its first ever Ambassador Conference at the Coventry Transport Museum. Over 70 Ambassadors and the full Bloodhound Education Team braved the icy conditions to support the event.

The Conference was an opportunity for the Ambassadors to meet members of the Education Team, network with each other and to get new ideas on how to best engage with our young audiences.

The day included a full range of presentations including a project update from Richard Noble, an engineering update from Mark Chapman and lots of advice and hands on sessions from the Education Team. Everything was focussed on how to best communicate the exciting nature of engineering and science to everyone Ambassadors engage with.

Ambassadors shared some of their best experiences:

• Having questions shouted to me as I was leaving a school event by the pupils through the school fence.  I knew I had connected!
• Tripling the normal attendance at a Car Club meeting – ‘The Bloodhound Effect’!
• Racing Balloon Cars in front of 120 children in the school hall – organised chaos!
• Getting this feedback from a Dad a couple of days after doing a presentation at a school assembly... “Thanks to you I had to drive the car like Bloodhound all day today, deploying rockets and parachutes!”
• Hearing children say ‘WOW!’
