BLOODHOUND STEM Ambassador Sasha Penfold tells her Ambassador story, with a special message to the BLOODHOUND Team.
Dear BLOODHOUND
I have been a STEM Ambassador for Rolls-Royce for several years, and became involved with the BLOODHOUND Project as an Ambassador in October 2012, following an inspiring talk by Richard Noble. Since then I have organised and attended many events, such as presentations to schools and balloon car building events with Brownies, Scouts and Cadet groups. I also supported the BLOODHOUND stand at the NEC Autosport show, the Bath & West Show and the Farnborough Airshow. Most recently, I supported a Rocket Car building and firing day at a local Bristol school which was great fun, and will hopefully be repeated at another local school in September.
I really enjoy engaging with the public and young people, and being able to share my enthusiasm for the Project. There is a great team of people working really hard to hit the target of beating the current World Land Speed Record, and running a supersonic car to over 1,000mph.
I have also enjoyed attending the Ambassador conferences, where I have had chance to discuss the project with Richard Noble and Andy Green, as well as hearing where we are with the Project from the BLOODHOUND engineers. Being able to meet with fellow Ambassadors to share ideas has been invaluable.
I look forward to seeing the Car run soon during the runway testing, and hopefully see it set a new World Land Speed Record first-hand in South Africa!
I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone on the Team, especially the BLOODHOUND Education Team, for their help and support over the years, and wish the Project every success for the future. I love being part of it!
Best wishes, Sasha
