Students from Alkborough Primary School, Scunthorpe recently took part in a BLOODHOUND SSC awareness day.  Stuart Bontoft, formally of Corus, introduced pupils of Key Stage 2 to the technical and performance aspects of the car and led a session where the pupils made and raced “Balloon Cars”.  The pupils were impressed that there was so much maths and science involved in the build and racing the balloon powered cars and that by making alterations to the design and size and number of balloons really effected the performance, a true Engineering Adventure!

Key Stage 2 teacher, Mrs Chris Robinson felt that the pupils had got a lot out of the day and that she felt the BLOODHOUND SSC was an excellent way of introducing pupils to STEM subjects.

Stuart has worked with a number of schools in the Scunthorpe area and is due to deliver the Project to schools in Scawby and Brigg in the coming weeks.
