BLOODHOUNDSSC - Mock up build begins

Thursday, 5 February, 2009 - 10:43

Something to see, at last! I was visiting the University of the West of England (UWE) to discuss the forthcoming BloodhoundSSC@University pages of the website, when I had an opportunity to see how the build of the mock-up was going. I couldn’t wait!

Having selected a potentially suitable carbon brake rotor for BLOODHOUND SSC’s hydraulic braking system, the next step is to test spin the selected rotor to the car’s full design speed and see how the material behaves at that speed.

To accomplish this, the design team have produced drawings for a brake rotor spin test assembly and now we need to fabricate this test assembly.
